Hayes Day School provides services for children ages 5-21 who have multiple disabilities. We currently have students from thirteen districts across the Hudson Valley. We provide a highly structured and supportive program for students who have medical, behavioral and/or academic needs.

Hayes Day School provides a 12 month program certified by New York State Department of Education. Children are referred by their local school district’s Committee on Special Education (CSE). The local school district is responsible for tuition and transportation.

Our staff members have experience working with a wide range of abilities.  We focus on the individual needs of each student. This may include life skills, academic skills, vocational skills or a combination of all three. All of the students in our school are diagnosed as Multiply Disabled. We currently work with students who are further diagnosed with, but not limited to:

  • Deaf and/or blind including low vision
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Down Syndrome
  • Seizure Disorder
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Dandi Walker Syndrome
  • Soto Syndrome
